Here it is, I can tell you, it took a while to get here but I have arrived. I am back to doing more research activities, more development of games and I am excited for the time ahead and what it will bring. I spent the last four semesters in this position working on developing the best courses and also developing the best applications for students.
I have been working hard developing the best I can do, so much so that I went for workshops that lasted several days every few months developing ideas and working with five other universities to create the course for the needs of the students. It includes game elements from EMPAMOS and company support from industry like Cleverbridge and JetBrains. I am delighted with the outcome. The students have started it, I am now working on taking feedback and evaluating it. I'm excited to see what the next few weeks have to offer now that I am part of these two brilliant projects - 1) Connect SUP which has redeveloped the Multimedia course for both the English speaking course in Software Design and the German speaking course and 2) the Foundations of Programming course has now completely shifted in how programming is taught to first years based on the LehrLabor3 that we have been working on for months to deliver. In both projects with different teams, we adopted different teaching and learning strategies to help support students and allow them to thrive in environments where the beginners can interact and also help the advanced students explore more. The next step is to go to the LehrLabor Community Event which finishes off with the publication of what we are planning based on SOTL - the research side of the teaching and learning known as Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Bavaria. This is not the end - only the beginning! Comments are closed.
